Want to know more about Jerry Bags? You're in the right place!

Jerry Bags are plant-based & completely home compostable.

All Jerry Bags are made from:

🌽 Corn - it's wasted corn starch not fit to eat

🌽 PLA aka polylactide - this is a bio-based polymer made from the starch of plants like corn, sugar cane & sugarbeet

🌽 PBAT aka polybutyrate adipate terephthalate - this is a biodegradable polymer that helps the bags degrade more quickly at home and leaves no toxic residue

Our inks & dyes are water based, compostable and non-toxic.

Jerry Bags are certified to all major international standards. We're talking:

🤘 Australasian Bioplastics Association (ABA) AS5810 - Home compostable. This is Australia’s stringent home compost standard - it includes a toxicity test for worms

🤘 ABA AS4736 - Compostable

🤘 TUV Austria - OK Compost Home

🤘 TUV Austria - OK Compost Industrial

🤘 DIN CERTCO - DIN EN13432 - Compostable

🤘 DIN CERTCO - ASTM D6400 - Compostable

Super easy!

Toss all your food waste (we’re talking banana skins, egg shells, potato peels), your used Jerry Bags (with dog poop), empty Grab Bags boxes, stickers, mailers, receipts, nail clippings and dust from the vacuum straight into your worm farm, compost bin or just dig a hole and toss it in!

Just remember to keep your dog poo compost away from your veggie patch, edible garden or anything else you eat - the dog poo might contaminate your food and can make you sick. Dog poo for plants not potatoes!

Under "ideal" compost conditions, about 3-6 months. That's quicker than a corn cob or avocado skin!  At home, it may take a little longer depending on how much heat builds up in the compost!

Remember: plastic can take up to 1,000 years to decompose (or never), so we think that's pretty quick.

Jerry Bags are made from plants, totally compostable and break down to H2O, CO2 and organic matter you can return to the garden.

And most importantly, they leave no toxic residue or harmful micro-plastics.

They're also safe for compost worms!

Jerry Bags, obvs!

In a time of green-washing, it's easy to get lost in the marketing spiel. While all compostable material is biodegradable, not all biodegradable material is compostable. Stay with us...

Compostable materials undergo degradation by biological processes - during composting they break down into CO2, water, organic compounds and biomass (this is called 'humus' which is full of great nutrients). Compostable materials leave no toxic residue.

Biodegradable & degradable materials are made from plastic with other chemicals added (usually heavy metals) that cause the plastic to break down and disintegrate in the environment. It's basically plastic with metal added to it to make it "eco-friendly" (but it's not). It then breaks down into more plastic. Starting to see the difference?

Yep, you sure can. But we're on a mission to reduce landfill so we'd love for you to compost as many as you can.

Think of it like this:

⭐️⭐️⭐️ - industrial compost / home compost / bury

⭐️⭐️ - recycle

⭐️ - bin

0 gold stars - leave it on the footpath / Jerry poops in the kitchen

We recommend Jerry Bags are stored in a cool, dry place and used within 12-18 months to maintain integrity. Remember it's not plastic - we don't want these hanging around for centuries!

Based on 2 poops a day:

🤘 120 bags gets you about 2 months' supply

🤘 360 bags gets you about 6 months' supply

Give or take a little if your pet is extra regular!

All Jerry Bags are 23cm x 36cm

Grab Bags box sizes:

🤘120 bags = 24cm x 6cm x 6cm

🤘 360 bags = 24cm x 9cm x  9cm

We go metric sizing here in Oz!

Jerry Bags is 100% Australian owned & we operate from Naarm / Wurundjeri Country / Collingwood, Victoria. We're verified Australian Owned by Australian Owned.

All our products are designed & shipped with zero carbon footprint from Victoria.

Our manufacturing partner is currently based overseas (China) - we mindfully chose them as they have the technical innovation, sophisticated processes and responsible production capability that we need.

Jerry Bags are certified to Australian (ABA) & International (TUV Austria & DIN CERTCO) Standards (check out these FAQs for more detail).

We strongly believe this is a better alternative to traditional petrochemical plastics and we're always looking to improve. This includes Australian manufacturing if and when we can produce the same quality at home.

We hope you'll check us out and support this local Aussie business, doing its best to provide a poop bag alternative. 🌱

Every time handles are cut out of poop bags, loads of extra waste is thrown into landfill (e.g. all those squares you have to cut out to make handles).

Jerry Bags tie off super easily without handles.

We sure do! Shipping internationally is a little expensive for some countries at the moment
